WORKMEN PREPARING SITE FOR NEW PALMER BUILDING
McKean Country Democrat May 9, 1935

Yesterday workmen started preparing the site for the foundation of the new building to be erected by Robert K. Palmer on the Main Street lot between Quirk and Anderson and Carlson buildings.

Mr. Palmer has awarded the contract for the construction of a modern fireproof structure to J. Alfred Johnson of Smethport.

The Crescent Electric Co., of which Mr. Palmer is proprietor, will be moved to the new location from the present quarters in a wooden building in the same block as soon as work is finished.

The lot was purchased from Fred Heinlein.

NEW PALMER BUILDING OCCUPIED THIS WEEK
McKean County Democrat August 8, 1935

Mr. And Mrs. Robert Palmer took up their residence in the apartment in the second story of their beautiful new building on Main Street this week. They formerly resided in the Purtle house on North Franklin Street.

Mr. Palmer’s Crescent Electric Co. will be moved into ample, attractive quarters in the first floor of the new building in the next few days.

The latest addition to the business section is located between Quirk’s Garage and the Anderson & Carlson Store on the lot vacant since Rooney’s Meat Market was destroyed by a disastrous fire over a quarter of a century ago. Other buildings destroyed at that time were D. C. Young’s big store and the old Anderson & Carlson building.
