Listed below is a newspaper excerpt from the January 11, 1978 issue of the Bradford Era. The article concerns the Shawmut Railroad.

P. S. & N. On Monday, thanks to Mike Bauer Jr. of St. Mary's, we reported on an employees' timetable, effective January 22, 1900, for the Mt. Jewett and Smethport Division of the old Pittsburg (no "H"), Shawmut and Northern Railroad Co.
We promised today we could tell you about the contents of the listing of the line's stations, number and distances, effective January 16, 1904.
Obviously, many RTS readers well remember the P. S. & N. either as an active railroad or in the days after it ceased operations. We remember, for example, the old right-of-way near the Coliseum near Ceres, NY, where once big bands entertained.
The main line in 1900 covered a distance of 125 miles in Pennsylvania and New York from St. Mary's Junction north to Wayland, NY.
A listing of the stations in between should strike a responsive chord with many - from St. Mary's Junction north through County Home, Windfall, Gray Gables, Bear Run, North Fork, Wildwood, Wellendorf, Three Mile, Two Mile, Chatham, and Clermont.
The list goes on: Palmerville, Kasson, Comes, Smethport, Camp Fire, Crosmeyer, Mullins, Farmers Valley, Coryville, Larabee, Eldred, Bullis Mill, State Line Junction, Olean Junction, Ceres, Bowler, Little Genesee, Bolivar, Richburg, West Notch, Wirt, Nile, Friendship, Belvidere, Charles Pit, Angelica, County House, Bennetts, Scholes, Birdsall, Centre, Grove, Swains, Garwoods, Canasaraga, Grave Pit, Hornellsville Junction, Stony Brook Glen, Rogersville, Perkinsville, and Wayland.
Shawmut was on the Shawmut Branch, 26 miles from St. Mary's Junction. These were the stations, in this order - Kaul, Detsch, Groll, Gillen, Paine, Kersey, Dagus Crossing, Shelvey Summit, Cuneo, Thompson, Curry, Taylor, No. 5 Mine, Elbon, Hyde, Hellen Mills, Brockport, Mead Run, Shawmut, and Drummond, 27 miles from St. Mary's Junction.
