C.D. Comes, lumberman, originally lived in Digel, PA, a son of D.D. and Polly V. (Smith) Comes, natives of Pennsylvania,
was born in Keating Township, McKean Co, Pennsylvania, June 13, 1855.  He had always lived with his parents until the completion of thiis very fine mansion on the corner of W. King and W. Washington Streets.  He ran a large mill with his father, D.D..  They are sawing (1890) 4,000,000 feet of lumber per year and peeling 2,500 cords of hemlock bark.
