2000:  Smethport Fire Department

THE YEAR 2000:  THE SMETHPORT FIRE DEPARTMENT!

The fire department has had many changes to it since the building on Fulton Street.  As the years went by since 1885, so did the building structure and location of the department.

The members of the fire department have restored many artifacts of the department and have kept them in tact for many years to come. There are many things that the department does for the community.  Such things as from doing Bingo to the Mock Accident that they hold up at the school for Prom.  They department has done many things that all citizens are glad for and are impressed at.  Things from the Hull's Restaurant fire being put out to the average house fires being put out.  We thank them and appreciate them.  As you can see from the picture, the fire department's vehicle's are very nice and a lot different from the ones in 1885.  Since the years went by, the department adjusted to the times.
