   Hary G. Hernquist, a former resident of East State Road, Olean died Thursday (Dec. 15, 1983) in DePaul Hospital. Norfolk, Va., after a lengthy illness.

    Born in Norwich, Pa., on Nov. 10, 1914 he was a son of Arvid and Alma Johnson Hernqquist.  On June 30, 1940, in Olean, he married the former Marguerite Wuethrich, who survives. 

    Mr. Hernquist was a graduate of Olean High School, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army.

    He had been employed as a clerk in the olean post Offic for 31 years, retiring in 1978.

    Mr. Hernquist was a member, past deacon, and was active with the Youth Fellowship of the First Baptist Church in Olean, and was a member and deacon of Thalia Lunn Baptist Church of Virginia Veach.  He was a member of Portville Masonic Lodge 579 F & AM, the Weston's Mills Fire Department, and was active with the Boy Scouts of America.
    Surviving besides his widow, are two sons, David H. Hernquist of Orchard park and Lee A. Hernquist of Suffolk, Va.; two grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Hernquist of Olean; a sister, Mrs. john (Helen) Everitt of Olean, and several nieces and nephews.  A brother, Har4old Hernquist, and a half brother, Oscar Bloomquist, predeceased him.

     Friends may call at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral and committal services will be held Monday (Dec. 19, 1983) at 1:30 P.M.  The Rev. Anthony L. Evans, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Cestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.

    Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Olean.


 
 
 
Mrs. Fred W. Seitler Sr.
  Dubois, Pa.  Mrs. Grace Sitler, 85, a former resident of Smethport, died Thursday (Aug. 26, 1982) in Christ the King Manor.
  Born Feb. 23, 1897 in Big Run, she was a daughter of Samuel Erhard and Margaret Degarmat.  She was married to Fred W. Seitler.  Sr., who predeceased her.
  Mrs. Seitler was a member of Free Christian Evangelical Church in Smethport.
  Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Margeret Burford of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Betty Muhitch of DuBois and Mrs. Jean Transue of Binghamton, N.Y.; two sons, Fred Seitler Jr. of North Collins, N.Y. and Richard Seitler of Wallingford, Vt.; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
  Friend may call at the Free Christian Evangelical Church, Smethport, Sunday (Aug. 29, 1982) from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held.  The Rev. Howard McIlrath, pastor of the Christian and Missionary Church in Dubois, will officiate.  Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Smethport.

Mrs. Arthur D. Minnier
  Smethport, Pa.  Mrs. Harriet Minnier, 77, of Smethport RD 1, died Thursday (June 26, 1975) at her home, following a long illness.
  Born in Norwich Township, May 14, 1898, she was a daughter of George C. Rowley and Jessie Oviatt.  She was married to Arthur D. Minnier, who died in 1967.
  Mrs. Minnier was a member of the Crosby Methodist Church.
  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Taylor of Springville, N.Y; two sons, Glenn Mennier of Bradford, and William Minnier of Smethport; and 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Jay M. Snyder Funeral Home, Smethport, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. saturday (June 28, 1975) with the Rev. G.M. Lundeen, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren of Port Allegany, officiating.  Burial will be in Norwich Cemetery, Smethport.
Wilbur D. Erhard
  Wilbur D. Erhard, 82 of 127 S. 7th St., Olean died Thursday (Nov. 5, 1981) in St. Francis Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
  Born May 29, 1899 in Dubois, Pa.  he was a son of Samuel and Margaret DeArmond Erhard.  On June 5, 1919 in Smethport, Pa., he married the former Susie A. Walker, who survives.
  Mr. Erhard was employed as a Meachinist at Dresser Clark for 17 years prior to retirement in 1964.
  He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Olean; and Local 4601 Steel Workers Union AFL-CIO.
  Surviving besides his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Groat of Coudersport, Pa., and Mrs. Arthur (Martha) Holmberg of Portville; three sons, Duane Erhard of Long Valley, N.J., William Erhard of Randolph, N.J., and John Erhard of Portville; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Grace) Seitler of DuBois, Pa., Mrs. Morris (Bernice) Heist of Sherrill, N.Y., and Mrs. Jack (Gertrude) Kavney of Syracuse; a brother, Robert Erhard of Oneida; and several nieces and nephews.
  Friends will e received at the Spink funeral Home Inc., 646 east State St., Olean, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will  be held Saturday (Nov. 7, 1981) at 11 a.m. rev. Lawrence A. Mancini, pastor of church of the Nazarene, will officiate.  burial will be in the Homer Cemetery, Inez, Pa.

 
 
Mrs. Pansy S. Greenan
  Emporium, Pa.  Mr. Pansy A. Greenan, 72 longtime resident of the borough, died Tuesday (Sep. 30, 1975) at the skilled nursing unit of Andrew Kaul Memorial hospital, St. Marys, following long illness.
  She was born in Emporim April 19, 1903, a daughter of John F. and Birdie Hain Armstrong.
  Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Frances Black, of London, England; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her mother of St. Marys; and sister Dr. B. Irene Armstrong of St. Marys.
  Friends are being received the Coppersmith Funeral home, Emporium, friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday (Oct. 4, 1975) at a.m. Burial will be in Marys Cemetery.
Mrs. Jefferson H. Walker
  Mrs. Kathryn A. Walker, 91 of 350 Front St., Olean, died Friday (Sept. 17, 1982) in Olean General Hospital, following lengthy illness.
  Born Feb. 12, 1892 in Costl Pa. she was a daughter of Nora Jeffers Walker, April 26, 1910 in Coudersport Pa., she married Jefferson Walker, who died in July, 1970.
  Mrs. Walker was a member of Trinity United Method Church of Olean; Women Benefit Association; Olean Junior Legue; Lady Rainn Association; the AARP; Asp.. Tower Association; Women Relief Corp; and a member past noble grand of Portvi.. Rebekah Lodge; AARP.
  Surviving are a son, Char.. L. Walker of Eldred, Pa., f.. grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Dorothy Crosby of Coudersport and Mrs. Susie Erh.. of Portville; and several nieces and nephews.
  Friends will be received the Spink Funeral Home I.. 646 E. State St., Sunday Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 p.m., where funeral services will be held Tuesday (Sept 1982) at 11 a.m. The Rev. Pa. Miss Lorna Armstrong
  Emporium, Pa.  Miss Lorna J. Armstrong, 58, of 331 Portage St., Emporium, died Wednesday (Jan. 25, 1978) at the Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital in St. Marys following a long illness.
  Born March 23, 1918 in Norwich, she was a daughter of Oscar Mark and Jennie Morgan Armstrong.  Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at GTE Sylvania Electric Co., Emporium.
  Miss Armstrong was a member of the United Methodist Church.
  Surviving are two sons, Donald Armstrong of St. Marys, and Bernard Armstrong of Emporium; a daughter, Bonnie Armstrong of Emporium; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Audrey Marshall of Dover and Mrs. Colleen Cooney of Smethport.

Raymond Ely 
  Kane, Pa.  Raymond W. Ely, 76 of RD1, Kane, was pronounced dead on arrival at Kane Community Hospital, on Thurday (May 27, 1982).
  Born Aug. 15, 1905, in Cross Fork, he was a son of Ferdinand and Delia caldwell Ely, and was married to the former Rose Zuzek on Dec. 6, 1943, who survives.
  A recident of Kane for the past 30 years, Mr. Ely was employed as a state inspecter for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, retiring in 1970.
  He was a member of Elks Lodge 392 of Kane.
  Surviving besides his widow, are two sons, Raymond Ely Jr. and Amil Ely, both of Kane; a daughter, Mrs. Timothy (Josephine) Bradybagh of Kane; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
  Friends may call at the Cummings Funeral Home, Kane; today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held Sunday (May 30, 1982) at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Joseph Jerge, pastor of St. Callistus Catholic Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Callistus Cemetery.
Charles E. Smyth Jr.
  Bradford, Pa.  Cahrles Earl Smyth Jr. 61, of 200 Gates Hollow Rd., died Sunday (May 10, 1981) in Bradford Hospital.
  Born July24, 1919, in Norwich, he was a son of Charles E. and Mary Smith Smyth.  On Aug. 17,1940, he married the former Eva Wolcott, who survives.
  A lifelong resident of Bradford, Mr. Smyth had attended local schools, and was a 1938 graduate of Bradford High School.
  He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Navy in the South Pacific and Japan.
  Mr. Smyth had been employed for 33 years with the Kendall/ Amalie Division Witco Chemical Corp; and was chairman of the board for Potomac Safe and Lock Company of Manassas, Va.
  He was a member of the first United Methodist Church; Bradford Lodge 749 F & AM; Coudersport Consistory; Orak Grotto; McKean County Shrine Club; Zem Zem Temple in Erie; Zem Zem Road Runners of Bradford; had served as secretary of Pennsylvania Grotto; was deputy zone director of Supreme Council of Grotto; and was a charter member of Limestone, N.Y., American Legion Post.  He was a member of Bradford Township volunteer Fire Department; Quarter Century Club of Witco; William Hanley Senior Lodge 67; and was a former member of the Bradford Township Police Department.
  Surviving besides his widow, are his mother of Limestone; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley George of Lake City and Mrs. Charlene Heidorn of Manassas; seven granddaughters; a brother, Edward Smyth of Sebring, Fla; and several nieces and nephews.
Earl Ely
  Word has been recieved of the death of Earl Ely of Jersey Shore, Pa., a former resident of Olean.  Mr. Ely died Friday (May 16, 1975) in Jersey Shore of an apparent heart attack.
  Born in Hallsport, Pa., he was a son of ferdinand W. and Frances D. Caldwell Ely.
  While a resident of Olean, Mr. Ely had been employed as a barber in the former Suyllivan barber Shop, corner of W. Sullivan and N. Union St.  He haed owned and operated a Firestone Store in jersey Shore for 25 years.
  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Wilomena Ely; a sister, Miss pearl Ely of Olean; and a brother, Raymond Eloy of Kane, Pa.

 
Mrs. Lyle W. Ely
  Marshburg Pa.  Mrs. Theresa I. Ely, 84, died Thursday (Oct. 11, 1984) at home, following a brief illness.
  Born Dec. 30 1899, in Verona, Italy she was a daughter of Joseph and Giovonna Lorenzini.  She was married to Lyle W. Ely, who predecesed her in 1961.
  Mrs. Ely was a member of the Marshburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
  Surviving are four sons, Dean Ely and William Ely, both of Jersey Shore, Lawrence Ely of Marshburg, and Joseph Ely of Clarendon; three sisters, Mrs. Angie Meda and Mrs. Mae Hawley, both Lowville, N.Y., and Mrs. Margaret Burdick of Carthage, N.Y., and Hector Lorenzini of Horseheads, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
  Friends may call at the Hollenbeck Funeral Chapel, Bradford, today from 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held Saturday  (Oct. 13, 1984) at 11 a.m.  The Rev. Jack Barwin, associate pastor of St Bernard Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery, Bradford.
Glenn S. Rowe
  Glenn S. Rowe of 115 Fulton St., Olean, died today (Saturday,  Feb. 11, 1984) in Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness.
  Born in Mina, Pa. on June 15, 1890, he was a son of Edward and Ruth Davis Rowe.  He was married to the former Grace Winslow, who predecessed him Feb. 21, 1968.
  Mr. Rowe was a veteran of World War I, having served with the Army in the First Division.
