The Blackberry Inn was built in 1880 by Delano Hamlin.  When he died, his wife Eugenia Merrill Hamlin owned the house until 1944.  The house was then owned by Byron Hamlin Grandson, Forrest Newman until 1988.  Gifted Smethport renovator Russell Norman then restored the house for his daughter and her husband, Dwight and Carol Carlson.  In 1988 the Carlsons opened the "Blackberry Inn" Bed & Breakfast.  The Inn is presently closed for business.
