Evening Ball at the Bennett House
The McKean Miner
Saturday Nov. 3, 1860

"On with the Dance, let joy be unconfined!" - So said Ed Mason, in view of the hope which is to dedicate the Bennett House on next Friday evening, the 9th inst.- 'Twill be a house warming on a grand scale, and all are invited to attend. An oyster supper will be served up during the evening, and the sideboard will present an inviting appearance. A hand of stringed and wind instruments has been engaged, and there will be no postponement on account of the weather. We will add the style with which Mr. Mason gets up anything of this kind, the capacious ball-room of the Bennett House, and the band which has been engaged, lead us to believe that this is the dance that will cap the climax for this season. We expect that all those who like to "trip the light fantastic toe" will be there, and that all our old and new county officers will "chase the flying hours with glowing feel" and faces. If our quotation isn't right we will try and make it right o the evening in question.

M. A. Sprague,Dentist, from Buffalo, would inform the citizens of Smethport that he has engaged rooms at the Bennett House, for a short time and is prepared to perform dental surgery. Cleaning and extracting done carefully and skillfully. Teeth filled 25 per cent cheaper than by any other dentist, and warranted not to decay again where filled.
