Construction of the Rockwell House

This picture was taken in 1881. The Rockwell house, on a corner of Smethport's West Main Street, was about finished. The Rockwell House was built at the same time as the Grand Central Hotel, a little down the street. It featured three floors and a mansard roof, similar to that of the Grand Central.
