The place of where the 1936 finished school was built at was bought and torn down from a my by the name of Anthony Mozello and then sold to the now Smethport health center. It was torn down in the early 1990's. The kids and teachers inside of the building before it was taken down moved up to the Smethport elementary school now.

An advertisement for bids for reroofingof the high school buildingand for the installing of a folding partitionin the new gymnasium-auditorium appears elsewhere in this issue. The roof on the high school building is the original slate roof installed when the building was built in 1901. For the past number of years many leaks have appeared and considerable money was spent in repair workbut without satisfactory results. About three years ago the school board decidedto wait till suffivient funds could be raised to install a complete new roof. Since that time various makeshift methods were used to prevent rain from entering the building. The folding partition will be installed on the stage and will provide an excellent additional class room. The partition will be of sound proof material. These projects were part of the original plans made when the gymnasium-auditorium was constructed. But the $60,000 allocated for the entire project was not sufficient...
